To create your character, fill out the following template. Post it under the Profile Creation board when you're done; once a staff member approves your character, you're all set to start RPing!
Other animals do exist in this pre-apocalyptic world. From walruses to dogs, cats and even some more exotic species populate the barren land. They are uncommonly seen, and most keep within the close-knit communities of their own species. Most animals cannot do what wolves can do; they certainly cannot unlock Paradise. But for Valse de la Lune, inspiration was drawn from the character Mew (the caracal cat in Episode 20 "Consciously"). Like wolves, a rare handful of animals are capable of wearing a human disguise! In order for a non-wolf animal character to be successful, they need to have a motivation (ie, find a wolf pack that will permit them to join in the search for Paradise, etc).
However, like humans, it is not guaranteed that they will be able to make it to Paradise. This is the most difficult class to play well. There are a limited amount of spots for non-wolf animal characters in Valse de la Lune RP.
Canon Equivalent Examples: Mew the Caracal.
[/u]: Describe your character’s visual appearance as a human being. As a human, you can have clothes and a basic (non-gun) weapon if you like (for example, Tsume's punching knife, which was an homage to his claws in wolf form). Your character might be able to wear the human illusion, but they are still an animal- so naturally, unlike real humans, they won't carry much with them! Minimum two five-sentence paragraphs, please. Feel free to post up an image of what they look like to enhance your written description, but if you do so credit the artist who created the image.
Size: How large is your animal? The size will differ depending on the kind of animal you choose to play. Do some research for accuracy.
AnimalWeight: How heavy is your animal? Please write the amount in pounds.
Animal Description[/u]: Describe your character’s visual appearance as an animal. Only realistic colors for their species will be permitted - your Siberian tiger cannot be blue and orange. The only area in which there will be leniency for unrealistic coloration is the animal's eyes. Minimum one seven-sentence paragraph, please. Feel free to post up an image of what they look like to enhance your written description, but if you do so credit the artist who created the image - even if it’s a photograph of a real animal.
Ability: In Wolf's Rain, each wolf in the main pack had its own unique trait that it brought to the table. For example, Hige had an unusually good sense of smell, even by wolf standards! Even though you are not playing a wolf, what is your animal character's keenest ability?
Personality: Describe how your character tends to act. Minimum two five-sentence paragraphs, please.
History: The most important part of your profile! How did your character come to be wherever they are? Were they born inside a bubble-city, or free range? How much of this dystopian world have they experienced, and do they know of the Lunar Legend? Depending on whether you are playing a human, flower maiden, wolf, or other animal your history will be very different. Your character may not have met any canon characters from the animé in their histories. Before writing this part of your profile, make sure you have read the plot thread carefully and understand the setting of Valse de la Lune.
For a non-wolf animal, it is very important to describe how you came to be in the world of Wolf's Rain. Additionally, it might behoove you to elaborate on where other animals of your species live. If you cannot write a good reason as to why animals of your species live in this world, you may not play as one. It will be harder to get an animal from a tropical climate approved than one who lives in a northern climate.
Accessories: In the Wolf's Rain series, it is not uncommon for a wolf to have a treasured item that they carry with them or wear. For example, Toboe's bracelet, Hige's tag choker, and Blue's collar. Your character is allowed to keep one reasonable item on their person in their animal form, but it has to be something that their species could realistically carry or wear in animal form.
Goals: Each character on Valse de la Lune must have a goal of some sort. For most, it is to find Paradise. Others might only want money, and some might be motivated by fame. Having a character goal written down helps cohesion into the story and prevent aimless drifting (which could lead to passionless RP.)
This is critically important for non-wolf animal characters; how do they fit into the world?
