The Past Timeline
In order to understand where we are now, it is important to understand what came before. Valse de la Lune takes place a month or two after the end of Wolf's Rain. Kiba, Tsume, Hige, Toboe, and Blue have all been reincarnated - and all of them (henceforth known as 'the canon pack') are unaware of their lupine heritage. They go about their daily 'human' lives oblivious to the lunar flower's siren call... their memories of Cher, Hubb, Quent, and each other erased by the fickle nature of Cheza's resurrection gift.
For it was Cheza's dying wish that her beloved wolves be given a second chance at Paradise.
As her body erupted into a thousand lunar flower seeds, the hanabito poured all of her lunar energies into ensuring that the canon pack was born anew. Although they do not have their memories, Cheza wisely trusted that eventually the instinct to find Paradise would win them over once more. (Cheza was right - even now, Kiba hears faintly the moon call.) For now, the canon pack live separate lives - each in one of the five domed cities.
The Present Timeline
The three warring Nobles of the Wolf's Rain canon timeline (Orkham, Jaguara and Darcia) are dead. But politics stops for nothing, not even the apocalypse. Already a tyrannical new Noble is rising to power. His name is Lord Charnel, and rumor has it that he will pay dearly for any information on the Lunar Legend. Additionally, bounty hunters crazy enough to believe in wolves are flocking to Dusk City (ruled by Charnel) for he has put out a significant monetary reward for wolves brought to him - alive or dead! It is only a matter of time before Lord Charnel discovers that the second key to Paradise lies within the mysterious Flower Maidens...
The Lunar Legend is cyclical in nature. Kiba and the gang ended up right back where they started... but this story isn’t about them. It’s about you. This is your epic legend, your quest for Paradise... can you follow in the original pack’s footsteps and succeed where they did not?
Important Notes
- The canon pack are NPCs (non-player characters) controlled by staff and are used to add flavor and zest to the forum. Once again, I stress that this is your story, not theirs.
- Lord Charnel is also an NPC.
